What are the advantages of having our own website?
Efficiency and convenience. Before the creation of this website, the class has never had a single depository for all of our information that was readily accessible by individual members of the class. At different times, different classmates have taken charge of the files. Sometimes, our records got mixed with those of larger reunions, etc. and there was no real reconciliation of the files until just before the 2003 reunion. At that time, an extensive review was conducted to purge the files of duplicates, discover names that had dropped off the listings and in some cases, to eliminate names from other classes who had found their way into the 1958 records.
During a two week period in February 2005, Classmate A contacted me asking how to get in contact with Classmate B. Classmate C contacted me asking how to get in contact with Classmate D. Classmate E contacted me asking how to get in contact with Classmates F, G and H. Classmate I wanted to know if there were any classmates near her? While I did have all of the answers to these questions, there will be other inquiries I will not have the answers to, as in the case of missing classmates. And while I do not mind taking the time to be the honorary class recording secretary, it will be far more efficient for Classmate A, Classmate C, Classmate E and Classmate I to dig into the files on their own. And usually, more timely. The more of us who come on-line, the greater will be the need for this website.
