"Home of the Flying Eagles"
Much to our surprise and delight, Gena and I learn that Uruguay was a 1&1/2 hour ferry boat ride from Buenos Aires, and requires no visa. We decide to go for a day. It is a delightful experience. Buenos Aires may be 80% European heritage, but this town is clearly Spanish, Portuguese, and Indian. I see my first bull fighting stadium, even though bull fighting is now outlawed in this country. The leisure lifestyle of Colonia is in sharp contrast to the highly charged hustle of Buenos Aires.
