Virginia "Boo" Thompson

Virginia "Boo" Mackey Thompson, 58, of Morgan Hills, Beckley, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.

Born Dec. 9, 1939, at Ward, she was the daughter of the late James Elmer and Thelma Jones Mackey.

Mrs. Thompson spent her childhood in Beckley, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1958. She was a licensed hair dresser and formerly co-owned a salon in Hinton. She had been a resident of Morgan Hills since 1979, coming from Pineville. She was of the Christain faith.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Richard Dalton Thompson; a son, Rick Thompson and his wife, Maverisa, and their sons, Chirstopher and Michael, all of Atlanta; two brothers, Elmer and Harold Mackey, both of Beckley; and two sisters, Delores McMilion of Beckley and Millie Honaker of Elyeria, Ohio.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. George Dickson officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, Beckley.

Friends may call 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
