John Gray Pruett

John Pruett put food on the table by running the grocery store. After working in the advertising department for Coca Cola Bottling in Beckley, John moved to Florida in 1960 and found work at A&P. He rose to manager with the Tea Company before purchasing a grocery store in Dunnellon, Florida in 1982. He retired in 1992. John has stood on top of the Rocky Mountains, put his foot in the water of the Rio Grande River, visited Graceland in Tennessee and vacationed in the Great Smokey Mountains. His favorite place is still Grandview Park and his heart will always be in Beckley.
