James Curtis 'J.C.' Francisco

James Curtis "J.C." Francisco, 65, of Beckley, died Monday, June 13, 2005, in a Charleston hospital after a short illness.

Born March 17, 1940, at Beckley, he was the son of the late Charles Filmore and Lila Gunnoe Francisco.

Mr. Francisco was a former food service representative for Kraft Food and a former area manager for Valley Poultry Farms. Most recently, he retired as owner of J.C.'s Club in Beckley. He was a member of the Beckley Moose Lodge No. 1606.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Herb Francisco; and a sister, Gloria Washburn.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Hesse Francisco; a son, Curtis Francisco and his wife, Zakiyyah, of Silver Spring, Md.; Stepson, Scott Brown and his wife, Jennifer, of Beckley; his former wife, Betty Francisco of Beckley; stepdaughter, Vicky Underwood and her husband, David, of Beckley; stepson, Danny McGrady and his wife, Karen, of Beckley; brother Bob Francisco and his wife, Sue, of Beaver; grandchildren, Chase Brown, Noelle Brown, Taffy Underwood, Allison Underwood and Kelli McGrady.

He is also survived by his many friends and classmates of Woodrow Wilson Class of 1958 whom he loved dearly.

Following J.C.'s wishes, his body has been cremated and there will be no service.

His friends are invited to gather at 6 p.m. Wednesday at J.C.'s Club to raise a glass one more time in celebration of J.C.'s life.
