Jesse T. Adkins

ORMAND BEACH, Fla. - Jesse T. Adkins, formerly of Prosperity, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Ormand Beach Memorial Hospital in Florida.

Born Jan. 15, 1940, he was the son of the late Jesse A. Adkins and Mae Minerva Plumley Adkins.

He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Tommy and a brother, Brady R. Adkins.

Mr. Adkins had served in the Navy 20 years and was a Chief Petty Officer, he also fought in the Vietnam Conflict for two years and was a member of the VFW. He was a carpenter for many years.

Survivors include four children, Donna Wilson and husband, Chris of Port Orange, Fla., Sharon Gutierrec and husband, Ed of Port Orange, Fla., Diana Hulvey of Port Orange, Fla., and Daniel Adkins and wife, Jo Ann of Dothan; two sisters, Dreama Lyons and husband, Homer of Shady Spring and Glenna Bennett of Loraine, Ohio; a foster sister, Betty Vandall and husband, Ronnie of Logan, Ohio; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

His body will be cremated and returned to West Virginia.

There will be no services.
