Dear Classmates:
I'm doing really well. My wheelchair and walker are gathering dust while I buzz around with a cane. I'm back to teaching part time while I get through the "mop-up" period. The sepsis left me with an eye problem and a few dysfunctional fingers whose tendons are attached to a muscle that died. Surgery to fix that is scheduled for Halloween Day, and steroid drops should fix the eye. Not much of a payment, I think, for getting to stay above ground for some more years.
