Hey:

I have to tell you about my trip to Texas. On the way there our plane was 1 hour and 45 minutes late. We left on Friday. My husband John came home on Monday and his plane was 1 hour and 30 minutes late leaving. I stayed in Texas until Wednesday and my flight was to leave at 12:50 p.m.

My niece and I went to lunch and her husband called to say my plane was now leaving at 3:00 p.m. On the way to the airport at 1:30 p.m. he called again to say it wasn't leaving till 4:00 p.m. but it would actually leave when it was repaired. So I decided to go to the airport at that point. When I got to the outside baggage check-in I was told plane would not leave until 6:30 p.m.. I checked my baggage and went back to my niece's and spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool reading a book.

I got back to the airport at 6:00 p.m. and looked on the departures and my flight was leaving at 6:10 p.m. and I had to go to gate 37. (I haven't walked that fast in 20 years.) When I got there no one was in the waiting area and I thought I had missed my plane. The boarding agents were still there so maybe I hadn't missed the plane after all. I walked up to there and said, "Did I miss flight 710 to Philadelphia"?

"No, you did not but "YOU ARE THE ONLY PASSENGER".

I was speechless (for just a moment LOL). "That means I'M in first class?"

"Yes you are and you can even choose the movie and any seat you want."

Believe it or hot I almost peed my pants and said, "Do I have time to go to the bathroom first?

"YES." They would hold the plane for me. LOL. Honest to God its true.

When we were taking off the attendant made the announcement, "Welcome Barbara to flight 710 to Philadelphia."

This is a first time for me and them. Three attendants, a pilot and co-pilot. I had wine (they gave me the whole bottle) with a cheese tray, a full course dinner and the special dinner that the crew had (homemade tamales) and pecan pie. The pilot and came out and ask me how I liked the flight and I told him to call me Oprah-LOL. Upon arriving in Philadelphia, the announcement was "WELCOME To Philadelphia Barbara, and thank you for flying US Airways."

WOW! This is one for my memory book. We arrived at the international concourse at gate 38. I walked from 38 to 1 and then to concourse B . It took me 20 min with 4 walking sidewalks . When I got to baggage claim it said flight 710 from Dallas has arrived and there was my 2 pieces of luggage on the turnstile. I am going to send you a picutre in a separate e-mail. The plane held 110 passengers but look small in the picture. When I stood up to go to the bathroom and looked back to all those empty seats, it was like a Steven King novel, or something you would see in a movie. Weird feeling!

Well the adventures of Barbara . I guess you are never to old for new things to happen to you. I just hope they are all like this. LOL

     Love,
     Barbara
