Breaking New Ground

Wanderlust is the desire to know what is over the next hill, and speak of sounds not yet heard, and places not yet seen. These places may be half way around the world, or an evening stroll to a distant park in a town a hundred miles away. Importantly, they are experiences that are apart from the familiar. I believe that if there are no unknowns in lives, senses become dull. A sense of wonder goes away. The new sounds are missed, those experiences that are different from the expected sounds. The days do pass in the comfort of routine, but there are limitations that go with it. While our time is very protected, some of our dreams are lost.

As I get older, and my body begins to fail, I have hope that my memories will be waiting for me, to carry me over the places I can no longer go. I hope I can hold these memories, turn them, and catch their sunlight in my imigination. With that comes riches and peace, which are so hard to keep in this uncertain world.
